After the company meeting, members of the "Truck House" went on a shopping spree for the Toy For Tots foundation. Members split into 5 teams to buy as many toys as they could without going over their budget.  Along with toy shopping, members also had time to interact with the public, have fun with their fellow brothers and sisters, and play with the toys. Thank you to all who attended.

November 12

Company 53 spent 3 days working on a float  for the Dickens Day Parade.  The floats theme was the Past, Present, and Future. Upon the float the members will wear gear for the different areas the are assigned to... past- old helmets and old coats. Present- modern day fire gear. Future- red helmets and reflective vests... Along with the theme of Past, Present, and Future, the fire chief Doug Shields will be playing the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Special thanks to all the members that assisted in making the float come to life.

November 10

Tonight the members gathered for the weekly Thursday Night training session. The topic for this week was Chimney Fires. Chief Shields and FF Garman spoke to members on the different roles the truck company obtains when responding to a reported chimney fire. Members learned how to disassemble the "Ventilation Pipe", work the chains, clean the stove, use the chimney bar, and drop chimney bombs. Members then used the chimney on the side of the station to practice the skills that were learned. Using communication over the radio, running the chains, cleaning out the chimney, and finding some build up in the chimney. Special Thanks to Chief Shields, FF Garman for showing the "Rookies" the basics of chimney fires.
