GARAGE FIRE 

May 29, 2009

 

 Truck, Engine 53 responded to 83 Cortland Circle, Southampton Township, Franklin County Box 15-3 for the Garage Fire at 18:37 hrs.  County 911 center advised Company 15 units had a working Fire up graded to WFD. Air 53 Dispatched. Units arrived found small fire held Company 15 TK 53 for ventilation. Truck 53 cleared at 19:06

MVA, ONE AUTO ON ITS SIDE

May 22, 2009

 

 Engine 53 responded to the intersection of King & Earl Street box 53-01 for vehicle accident vehicle on its side. E53 arrived to find a pickup truck on its side into a tree in the 52-01 box.  Patient out sitting on side walk.  E53 placed E154 (for squad 54) in service before arriving on scene.   Thanks to Chief 4a (Chief O’Donnell) and Dave Myers for traffic control.

REPORTED GARAGE FIRE

May 21, 2009

 

 Truck and E53 alerted to Hurley Drive box 15-6 for the Garage fire. Units arrived to find small fire in the garage that was extinguished by residents prior to units arrived. TK53 assisted with lighting, salvage and overhaul and utilities.

DWELLING FIRE

May 13, 2009

 

Truck and Air 53 alerted at 09:16 to box 44-09 for the Working  Fire Dispatch at 96 Sunset Ave, Hamilton Township . TK 53 stage in man power pull while Air 53 filled 30 cylinders. Truck and Air 53 cleared at 11:18hrs.

ENGINE 53 DONATION

May 13, 2009

 

Southampton Township, Franklin County Board of Supervisors presented a check of $10,000.00 towards the new engine 53. The members of the Cumberland Valley Hose Company would like to thank the supervisors and the residents for their support.

CHIMNEY FIRE

May 1, 2009

 

Truck and Engine 53 alerted at 14:56 to box 151-01 for the Chimney Fire at 65 Peebles Road, Hopewell Township . TK 53 took roof operation to drop chimney bombs and chains. Crews also assisted with interior operation.  E53 placed in service, TK 53 cleared at 15:40hrs.

 

 

   

 

 

 

150 YEARS OF SERVICE

June 27, 2009

 

Cumberland Valley Hose Company #2 celebrated its 150 years of service to Shippensburg at a banquet  Saturday night  During the event were many of old and new displays, with the present 2008 Pierce Engine/Ladder 53 beside the old 1937 Ward LaFrance. The CV Hose began its Journey in 1859 and is one of three departments in Shippensburg. The evening started with a social hour to unite the old and new members, followed by a dinner, memorial service, and awards presentation.  (Special Thanks to Company 36 and Company 11 for standby)

BUSY DAY

June 22, 2009

 

53 House started it's day at 04:39 hrs for Truck 53 to respond to 5274 Sunset Pike, box 11-05 for the AFA. Truck cleared at 5:09. Shortly after  Engine 53 was alerted to a 53-01 box at 05:29 for vehicle accident with fire and entrapment at the intersection of Burd and North Earl Street. Engine crew arrived to find a two vehicle accident with a pick up truck on its side, confinement and no fire. E53 crew assisted with cribbing, patient packaging/removal, hazard control. EMS transported 1 patient to Chambersburg Hospital, later flown to Hershey Medical Center.  E53 cleared at 06:10. At 08:15 Truck 53 was alerted to 976 Ritner Hwy. Box 152-01 for an Auto Accident with truck into a house with fire and entrapment. Truck 53 arrived to find a pick up truck and tractor trailer into a house, possible entrapment on the second floor, and had fire in the house and entrapment in the tractor trailer. Truck crew quickly ladder the house forced entry to search the second floor, occupants out. Operator set up ventilation side A & C, with lighting. Crew then assisted with salvage and overhaul and assisted squad crew extrication. A53 was dispatched for support at 08:40.  Truck 53 remained on scene for support until cleared at 14:08.

JUNE RUNS

 

Truck house has been busy in the month of June with 25 run to date, just not may exciting pictures to show. Company 53 responded to a number of AFA's, Eclectic fire, Transfers, Gas Leaks, and some Medical assists.
